New Delhi/Anupgarh: In one of the most direct warnings issued by a top Indian military official, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday said that Pakistan risks losing its geographical existence if it continues to support terrorism. His sharp remarks came during a military address in Anupgarh, Rajasthan, near the India-Pakistan border.
“If Pakistan wants to remain on the geographical map, it must end state-sponsored terrorism,” General Dwivedi declared, referencing Operation Sindoor, India’s recent cross-border strike in response to the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year.
“This Time, We Won’t Hold Back” – Army Chief’s Chilling Message
General Dwivedi made it clear that the next phase of India’s response to terrorism will be decisive and devastating.
“This time, we will not exercise restraint like Operation Sindoor 1.0. We will do something that will force Pakistan to reconsider whether it wants to remain in the geographical landscape,” he said.
He also addressed troops directly, saying:
“Soldiers, be prepared. Preparations are complete. If God wills, you’ll get the opportunity soon. Best wishes.”
Operation Sindoor: India’s Coordinated Military Response
The Army Chief reiterated that India had provided irrefutable evidence of terror camps operating inside Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, launched in May 2025 following the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22.
He stated:
- Nine targets were hit inside Pakistan and PoK.
- Seven were struck by the Indian Army, and two by the Indian Air Force using precision long-range weapons.
The operation received global support, validating India’s claims of cross-border terror infrastructure.
Follow-Up: Air Force Claims Destruction of Pak Fighter Jets
The Army Chief’s comments follow closely on the heels of Air Chief Marshal AP Singh’s statement, in which he confirmed that the IAF shot down:
- Four to five Pakistani fighter jets, including F-16s and JF-17s
- An AWACS surveillance aircraft
- Multiple ground assets such as radars, hangars, and runways
This was part of India’s massive retaliatory operation launched on May 7 against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
“Border Civilians Are Soldiers Too”
In a powerful statement of solidarity, General Dwivedi praised the resilience of border residents, calling them soldiers in their own right.
“We consider civilians living on the border as soldiers. They stand shoulder to shoulder with the army. This is not just a military fight — it’s a national fight.”
Strategic Shift in India’s Security Posture
With General Dwivedi’s warning and the Indian military’s recent offensive actions, it is evident that India’s defense posture has significantly hardened. The shift signals:
- A zero-tolerance policy towards cross-border terrorism
- Readiness for escalated military action
