RVNL Appoints Vegi Ramu Naidu as Executive Director to Spearhead Key Railway and Infrastructure Projects

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has announced the promotion and appointment of Mr. Vegi Ramu Naidu as Executive Director (Civil) of the company. The appointment, effective from December 3, 2025, elevates him to the position of Senior Management Personnel, reflecting his extensive experience and leadership in the Indian railway and infrastructure sector.

Educational Background and Professional Credentials

Mr. V.R. Naidu, a 1993 batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Infrastructure Management (PGDIM) from IGNOU. Over his career spanning more than three decades, he has demonstrated expertise in operations, railway and highway infrastructure construction, human resource management, stores management, and contract administration.

Key Contributions and Projects

Before his promotion, Naidu served as CPM (Group General Manager) at RVNL’s Visakhapatnam unit for six years. During this tenure, he oversaw several major projects critical to enhancing India’s railway infrastructure, including:

  • Doubling of the Sambalpur-Titlagarh railway line spanning 182 kilometers, with multiple important bridges executed under Asian Development Bank contracts.
  • Extension of the MEMU shed at Khurda Road.
  • Construction of the wagon workshop at Vadlapudi, Visakhapatnam.
  • Construction of the third line from Vizianagaram-Titlagarh covering 262 kilometers, including major bridges.
  • NHAI four-lane highway project from Samarlakota to Achampeta over 12.25 kilometers.

Strategic Role at RVNL

Mr. Naidu’s appointment as Executive Director comes at a time when RVNL continues to focus on accelerating railway infrastructure development across the country. His leadership is expected to strengthen project execution, ensure timely completion of critical infrastructure projects, and support the government’s vision of enhanced connectivity and efficient transportation networks.
