IPS officer A Sunil Acharya (NL-91) whose name was recommended in a panel for the post of Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland, has declined to be considered for the post. This was stated in a letter, issued on November 1, by the Under Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland.
“It is stated that the matter of consideration of A Sunil Acharya, IPS (NL-91), to include his name in a panel for the post of DGP. Nagaland, has been considered at an appropriate level. It is informed that Acharya would like to continue on deputation with Government of India and does not wish to be considered for posting as DGP Nagaland”, the letter read.
