Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government has promoted senior IPS officer Alok Singh to the rank of Director General (DG). Singh, a 1995-batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, is currently serving as Additional Director General (ADG) of the Kanpur Zone.
Promotion Follows Vacancy After Neera Rawat’s Retirement
His elevation comes following the vacancy created by the retirement of Neera Rawat on April 30, 2026. She was serving as DG of UP-112 and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
As the senior-most officer of the 1995 batch in the state cadre, Singh’s promotion was widely anticipated.
