Bihar: 15 IAS & 8 IPS Officers Transferred, Anand Kishore Made Principal Secy, Housing & Urban Development

With merely a month to go before the Lok Sabha polls, the Nitish Kumar led Bihar government issued a directive mandating a substantial shake-up in the bureaucracy. As many as 15 IAS and 8 IPS officers stand transferred and posted following a directive issued by the General Administration Department, Bihar. 

Among the transferred officers, several eminent bureaucrats hailing from the ranks of secretaries and principal secretaries of several departments, including the District Magistrates of Jehanabad, Katihar, and Sitamarhi, are included.

The transferred IAS officers:

The incumbent Additional Chief Secretary of the Cooperation Department, Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh (1992 batch), was instructed to assume office as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. Mr. Parmar Ravi Manubhai, another 1992 batch IAS officer, was appointed Additional Chief Secretary in Mines and Geology Commissioner. 

A 1996 batch IAS officer, Mr. Anand Kishore, presently serving as the Chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board, was mandated to assume office as the Principal Secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department, while Mr. Santosh Kumar Malla (1997 batch) became the Principal Secretary in the Cooperatives department. 

A Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Mr. Anupam Kumar (2003 batch), was bestowed with the additional responsibility of a Secretary in the Parliamentary Affairs department. Mr. Dharmendra Kumar, presently posted as the Principal Director in the Department of Mines and Geology, was appointed Secretary in the same department. 

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh (2007 batch), presently posted as a secretary in the Department of Health, was given additional charge as Secretary in the Urban Development Department. Another 2007 batch IAS officer, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, was appointed the Commissioner of Bhagalpur. 

Officer Dharmendra Kumar, Secretary of the Urban Development Department, was mandated to assume office as the Managing Director of the Bihar Medical Services Infrastructure, while, Mr. Rajiv Kumar Srivastava was appointed Prabhat Director in the Bihar State Housing Board.

Mr. Manish Kumar Meena (2015 batch IAS) was appointed the District Magistrate of Katihar, while Mr. Richie Pandey (2016 batch IAS) was appointed the District Magistrate of Sitamarhi. Mr. Ravi Prakash (2016 batch) became the Joint Secretary in the Department of Industries. Ms. Alankrita Pandey (2016 batch IAS) became the District Magistrate of Jehanabad, replacing Officer Richie Pandey. Mr. Yogesh Kumar Sagar (2017 batch IAS officer) was appointed director of the Bihar Urban Infrastructure.

The transferred IPS officers:

Mr. Chandan Kumar Kushwaha (2010 batch IPS) was appointed the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Khagaria, while, Mr. Har Kishore Rai (2011 batch) was appointed SP of Vaishali. Mr. Rajendra Kumar Bhil (2011 batch) was appointed SP of Arwal Superintendent, while Officer Enamul Haque Mengnoo (2012 batch) was appointed Commandant of Home Guard. 

Mr. Kartikeya Kumar Sharma (2014 batch IPS) became SP of Bihar Special Armed Police, while Officer Vidyasagar became the Additional Director of Assistant State Fire Officer in Patna. IPS Sagar Kumar (2018 batch) became the SP of Kishanganj, while Ms. Kamya Mishra (2019 batch IPS) became the rural SP of Darbhanga.
