Centre Fills All 5 Vacancies for ED Special Directors, IPS Viplav Kumar Choudhary Takes the Key Role

In a significant development, the central government has appointed five new Special Directors to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), filling all five vacancies for the position. The appointments were made on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

The five newly appointed Special Directors are:

  • Mr. Viplav Kumar Choudhary, a 1997-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer
  • Mr. Rajnishdeb Burman, a 1999-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS)-Income Tax officer
  • Mr. Manu Tentiwal, a 2003-batch IRS-IT officer
  • Mr. T Shankar, an IRS-IT officer
  • Mr. Padmanabhan, an IRS-IT officer

These appointments mark a significant development in the Enforcement Directorate, which is responsible for investigating economic crimes and enforcing economic laws in India.
