The Himachal Pradesh government has announced the transfer of 12 Himachal Pradesh Police Service (HPS) officers with the aim of enhancing administrative efficiency and ensuring stronger law and order management across districts. The latest reshuffle reflects the state’s focus on placing officers in critical positions to optimize policing and public service delivery.

New Appointments and Key Transfers
Ms. Shumaila Chaudhary, a 2022-batch IPS officer awaiting appointment, has been posted as SDPO Dehra. Mr. Hitesh Lakhanpal has been shifted from Kangra to serve as Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Chamba. Mr. Dinesh Kumar Sharma, who was on leave reserve in Shimla, will now serve as ASP IRB Pandoh.
Mr. Hemant Kumar has been moved from Dalhousie to DSP IRB Sakoh, while Mr. Khajana Ram has been posted as DSP SDRF Mandi. Mr. Chandrapal Singh has been transferred from Ghumarwin to the role of SDPO Nurpur.
Strengthening Policing in Key Districts
Mr. Vikram Chauhan, DSP City Shimla, will now serve as DSP Intelligence CID Shimla. Mr. Vishal Verma has been shifted from Nurpur to SDPO Ghumarwin, and Mr. Chaman Lal has been appointed DSP IRB Junglebari. Mr. Naveen Jhalta, earlier posted at Reckongpeo, has been given charge as DSP Vigilance Headquarters Shimla.
Further, Mr. Anil Kumar-VII has been moved from SDPO Dehra to DSP 1st IRB Bangarh. Mr. Mayank Sharma has been appointed SDPO Dalhousie, while Mr. Umeshwar Rana will serve as DSP Headquarters Kinnaur, Reckongpeo.
