DC Jain, a senior member of the Indian Police Service (IPS), has been promoted to the rank of Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), where he previously held the position of Additional Director.
According to an order published on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet accepted the promotion in response to a suggestion from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). From the time he takes over, Mr. Jain will assume the position of Special Director and hold it until his retirement on October 31, 2023, or until further instructions, whichever comes first.
