The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has lately approved the appointment of four senior IPS officers, each from the 1993 batch, as Special Directors in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). The IPS transferees have been promoted to the rank of Special Director on an in-situ basis as they were already working as Additional Directors in the IB.
They are:
- Mr. Rithwik Rudra, an IPS officer from the Himachal Pradesh cadre;
- Mr. Mahesh Dixit, an IPS officer from the Andhra Pradesh cadre;
- Mr. Praveen Kumar, an IPS officer from the West Bengal cadre;
- Mr. Arvind Kumar, an IPS officer from the Bihar cadre.
As mentioned above, these appointments have been made on an in-situ basis by temporarily upgrading their posts of Additional Director for a tenure of two years or until further orders, whichever ends earlier.
