IPS Preeti Jain has been accorded an important administrative posting in the Centre. She has been appointed as Deputy Secretary, of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance.
What is notable here is the fact that a police officer has been appointed for administrative responsibility and that too in the Finance Ministry. According to administrative experts, the Economic Affairs department is considered extremely important in the Ministry where only capable and brilliant officers are appointed. As of now, Jain was serving as Director, of the Intelligence Training Academy and has served as Superintendent of Police of Tonk, Hanumangarh, Chittorgarh and Dausa in the past. Interestingly, the Sriganganagar native has an M.Phil degree in economics.
