Amidst a recent development, Mr. Vipul Kumar (1999 batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer) was mandated to assume the rank of Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on a central deputation basis for a five-year tenure from the date of assumption of the post. Officer Kumar had earlier served as the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Managaluru.
