Major IPS Reshuffle in Odisha

The state government of Odisha has issued the order of the transfer and posting of 18 IPS officers in new posts.

The Odisha government has shifted as many as 18 IPS officers in the state, including five superintendents of police.

As per an official notification issued by the state home department, 2010-batch IPS officer Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, who was serving as the Keonjhar SP, has been appointed as Rourkela SP.

2015-batch IPS officer Nitin Kusalkar Dagdu, who was SP Bolangir, will be as the new Keonjhar SP.

2013-batch IPS Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo, who was Rourkela SP, will be the new Sambalpur SP.

2011-batch IPS Battula Gangadhar, who was serving as the Sambalpur SP, has been appointed as Mayurbhanj SP, while 2016-batch IPS officer Rishikesh Khilari, who was serving as Mayurbhanj SP, has been named the Bolangir SP.

The other transfers are:

  • AM Prasad (RR-1989), currently awaiting posting on repatriation from the Central deputation, has been posted as the Special DGP of the Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC). 
  • Sudhansu Sarangi (IPS RR-1990) currently posted as Special DG of Police Railways & Coastal Security has been transferred as DG of Fire Services (FS) and CG. Home Guard (HG) & Director Civil Defence (CD).
  • RK Sharma (IPS RR-1995), Additional DGP Law & Order (L&O), has been transferred as Additional DGP Headquarters.
  • Sanjay Kumar (IPS RR-1997), currently posted as Additional DGP (Modernisation) has been appointed Additional DGP Operations.
  • Amitabh Thakur (IPS RR-1998), Additional DGP Operations has been made the Transport Commissioner. 
  • Suresh Dev Datta Singh, (IPS RR-1998) has been made ADGP Operations.
  • Dayal Gangwar, (IPS RR-1998) has been given charge as ADGP Railways and Coastal Security.
  • Rajesh Kumar (IPS RR-1998), the Additional DGP of the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) has been made ADGP Modernisation.
  • Narasingha Bhola (IPS RR 2002), currently posted as IGP, Central Range (CR), Cuttack, will replace Ashish Singh as Excise Commissioner.
  • Ashish Singh will take charge of IGP, CR, Cuttack, and IGP SFSL.
  • DIGP, South West Region (SWR), Koraput, Rajesh Pandit (IPS RR 2007) has been transferred as DIGP, Fire services (FS) & Home Guard (HG).
  • Akhileswar Singh has been named DIGP, SIW.
  • CS Meena who is currently serving as DIGP FS & HG has been transferred as DIGP, SWR, Koraput.
