Ghamsaan, a film based on the life of IPS officer Amitabh Yash, will premiere at the MAMI Film Festival on October 20th at PVR Cinemas in Juhu. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the movie showcases Yash’s clash with the dreaded dacoit Dadua, who once terrorized the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh.
Amitabh Yash, a 1996-batch IPS officer, is known as an encounter specialist and currently serves as Additional Director General of Police in the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF). His fearless operations, including taking down Dadua and his gang, made him a prominent figure, now celebrated on the big screen.
Originally titled Yash, the film was earlier set to feature Irrfan Khan as Dadua. In the final version, however, Arshad Warsi plays the role of the dacoit, while Pratik Gandhi stars as Amitabh Yash. This is the first time the two actors are working together, and Warsi’s fans are excited to see him take on a negative role.
The film’s first screening will be on October 20th at 8 PM, promising a gripping story of law enforcement versus crime.
