Deputy inspector general of police in Maharashtra anti – terrorism squad (ATS) Shivdeep Lande’s varified Facebook page was hacked on Thursday. Mr. Lande on another social media platform posted that his Facebook page was hacked on August 19 which had followers of more than 7.51 lakh accross the country. He fears his account will be misused. IPS officer Lande also said that he complained about the matter to Facebook India on August 22. The officer further said the admin, Manjit Vishal, who was handling his page, was removed. The official added that this was unauthorised access and totally a hacking activity. His page has gone now and it’s no longer visible on Facebook. “I am taking this matter legally too and the complaint will be registered. As the data of his followers can be misused so retrieving the data is his first priority and Facebook officials are trying to retrieve his data, he added.
An IPS officer of Bihar cadre, Mr. Lande had played a key role in many cases and posted on deputation in Maharashtra in 2016 for a period of 3 years and this will end November this year.
