Bareilly: IPS officer Sonali Mishra, a 2023 batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre currently posted in Bareilly, delivered an inspiring address to NCC cadets during the Police School program organized by Amar Ujala Foundation at Rajshree Institute, Rithora.
Speaking at the CATC 104 camp of the 8 UP Girls Battalion, Mishra highlighted the significance of the uniform, discipline, and gender equality — leaving the young cadets energized and motivated.
“Uniform is a Symbol of Responsibility”
In her keynote, CO II Sonali Mishra said that wearing a uniform is not merely about attire — it symbolizes honor, discipline, and responsibility. “Only a few get the privilege to wear the uniform, and it should be worn with pride and commitment,” she emphasized.
She pointed out that behind every NCC uniform is dedication and hard work, and that cadets must live up to the expectations of discipline and integrity associated with it.

Breaking Gender Stereotypes
Touching on societal challenges, IPS Mishra addressed the prevalent misconceptions about women in leadership and law enforcement. She stated firmly, “It’s time to change the old mindset that women can’t shoulder big responsibilities. We must break these barriers ourselves.”
Encouraging Confidence and Self-Reliance
Urging cadets to stay focused and determined, Mishra shared, “As women, we do face unique challenges. But we must not back down from our goals. We must move forward with confidence and courage.”
She called upon the cadets to become self-reliant and empowered, urging them to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with men in all spheres of life.
A Boost of Motivation for Young Cadets
The event, part of Amar Ujala’s civic and youth engagement initiative, proved to be an energizing session for the NCC cadets, who left the program feeling inspired and more confident about pursuing careers in service and leadership.
