New Delhi: The Board of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has appointed Mr Chandan Kumar Verma as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). A seasoned officer from the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), 2000 batch, Mr Verma brings with him over two decades of expertise in financial planning and infrastructure project finance.
Mr Verma was previously serving as Executive Finance at RVNL and succeeds Mr Sanjeeb Kumar, who had been holding the dual charge as Director (Finance) and CFO.
Extensive Financial Expertise in Railway Sector
Mr Verma holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Botany from the University of Allahabad. Over the years, he has developed deep expertise in financial management, budget monitoring, tender evaluation, and regulatory compliance, particularly in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and PMC (Project Management Consultancy) contracts.
His tenure as General Manager and Group General Manager (Finance) at RVNL saw him taking charge of key responsibilities such as liaison with the Railway Board and Zonal Railways. He was also responsible for overseeing financial operations, taxation, and statutory compliance.
Dual Role at HSRC Infra Services Ltd.
In addition to his new role at RVNL, Mr Verma continues to serve as the Chief Financial Officer of HSRC Infra Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of RVNL focused on high-speed rail and infrastructure development.
His appointment comes at a time when RVNL is expanding its footprint in key infrastructure and rail connectivity projects across the country.
