IRCON Appoints Rajesh Naik as Director (Projects) to Lead Strategic Growth and International Expansion

Naik’s Appointment Will Focus on Strengthening IRCON's Domestic and International Projects, Promoting Atmanirbhar Bharat Initiatives

New Delhi: Rajesh Naik has been recommended for the position of Director (Projects) at Ircon International Limited (IRCON), a leading Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Railways. The recommendation was made by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel during its 105th meeting, held on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Naik was selected for the position from a pool of 11 candidates, which included five internal candidates from IRCON, two from Indian Railways, and one each from the Central Public Works Department, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), RITES Limited, and CONCOR. Following the selection, Naik’s name will now be forwarded for final approval.

As the new Director (Projects) at IRCON, Naik will take on a critical leadership role as a member of the Board of Directors. He will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for overseeing project planning, marketing operations, and securing new business both domestically and internationally. Additionally, Naik will monitor ongoing international projects, while promoting the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by encouraging indigenisation in IRCON’s operations.

Key Responsibilities of Director (Projects):

  • Project Planning and Execution: Naik will lead project planning and execution strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Marketing Operations: He will be responsible for expanding IRCON’s business footprint, both in India and abroad, by fostering new opportunities.
  • International Project Oversight: Naik will also monitor ongoing international projects, ensuring their progress and aligning them with company goals.
  • Promotion of Atmanirbhar Bharat: A key area of focus will be driving indigenisation efforts within IRCON’s projects, in line with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiative.

Naik’s appointment is seen as a significant step in strengthening the leadership of IRCON, particularly in driving its domestic and international projects forward. His experience and leadership will be crucial in further enhancing the company’s capabilities in project management, business development, and innovation.
