IREDA Opens Applications for Director (Projects) Role; Apply by September 8 via PESB Portal – Details Inside

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has issued a notification inviting applications for the position of Director (Projects) at the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA). The deadline for submission is September 8, 2025, and applications must be made online through the PESB official portal.

IREDA, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), plays a pivotal role in financing and promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in India.

About the Role: Key Position Driving India’s Clean Energy Goals

The Director (Projects) will serve on IREDA’s Board and report directly to the Chairman and Managing Director. The role involves strategic oversight and execution of renewable energy project portfolios, including:

  • Wind and solar energy
  • Biomass and cogeneration
  • Small hydro
  • E-mobility
  • Energy efficiency initiatives
  • Emerging green technologies

Key responsibilities also include project appraisal, monitoring, consultancy, business development, and the promotion of IREDA’s lending products to support India’s energy transition.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply

  • Age Requirement:
  • Minimum age: 45 years
  • Service length and retirement norms vary based on category and background.
  • Educational Qualifications:
  • Candidates must hold an engineering degree or equivalent with a strong academic record.
  • An MBA or PGDM qualification is desirable.

Experience:

Minimum five years of cumulative experience in the last ten years in project appraisal, technical and financial monitoring, or environmental assessments.

Preference given to those with a background in the renewable or power sector.

Eligible Employment Backgrounds:

Candidates from CPSEs, Central/State Government, Armed Forces, Public Sector Banks, Financial Institutions, Autonomous Bodies, and private companies with an annual turnover of ₹5,000 crore or more can apply.

Pay Scale and Tenure

The position carries a pay scale of up to ₹2,80,000 (IDA) or equivalent, depending on the applicant’s cadre and service history.

The tenure is five years or until superannuation, whichever comes earlier.

Interested candidates must apply online at https://pesb.gov.in within 30 days of the vacancy being published.

Application deadline: September 8, 2025, by 3:00 PM

Deadline for forwarding by nodal officers: September 17, 2025, by 5:00 PM
