Leyaqat Ali Aafaqui, an IRS officer from the 2008 batch (income tax), has been prematurely sent back to his parent cadre from his central deputation role as Director in the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
As per an order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) dated December 13, 2024, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Ministry of Minority Affairs’ proposal for his repatriation, which will include an extended cooling-off period.
