IRS Officer Apoorva Bharadwaj Appointed Joint Secretary in UPSC

The appointment was confirmed through an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Apoorva Bharadwaj, an Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer from the 2007 batch, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in Delhi. This decision comes following a recommendation for central deputation by the Department of Revenue. The appointment was confirmed through an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Under the central staffing scheme, Mr. Bharadwaj will serve as Joint Secretary in UPSC for a tenure of five years, starting from the date he assumes charge of the post or until further orders, whichever comes first.

The selection of Mr. Bharadwaj marks another step in his distinguished career in public service, and his new role is expected to bring valuable experience to the UPSC, one of India’s premier constitutional bodies responsible for recruitment to various central government positions.
