Three IRS (Income Tax) officers have been appointed to the position of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT), at level 16 in the pay matrix, for the panel year 2024.
They are:
- Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar Jha (1991-batch IRS (IT) Officer)
- Ms. Prabha Kant (1991-batch IRS (IT) Officer)
- Mr. Arun C. Bharat (1992-batch IRS (IT) Officer)
As noted, all three will continue to hold their current positions until their formal postings are made. It’s important to highlight that Ms. Prabha Kant is set to retire this month, while Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar Jha and Mr. Arun C. Bharat will retire in August 2025 and September 2026, respectively.
