Washington: The Jaishankar–Rubio meeting marked a significant moment in India–US relations as the External Affairs Minister met the US Secretary of State in Washington.

The meeting also set the stage for the first-ever Critical Minerals Ministerial being hosted by the United States in Washington. The event will bring together delegations from more than 50 countries to strengthen cooperation on securing and diversifying global critical mineral supply chains.
The ministerial initiative, described as a landmark initiative by the US State Department, aims to support technological innovation, economic growth, and national security. It will open with remarks by US Vice-President , Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other senior US officials.
