Ranchi: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Jharkhand government has transferred and assigned new responsibilities to 57 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, according to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language.

The move includes both routine transfers and the allocation of multiple additional charges, signaling a major overhaul of administrative machinery aimed at increasing operational efficiency across various state departments.

Key Appointments and Additional Charges
Amitabh Kaushal, one of the senior-most officers in the list, has been appointed as Secretary of the Commercial Tax Department. In addition, he has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Excise and Prohibition Department—a key department for state revenue and enforcement.

Rajesh Kumar Sharma has been posted as Secretary, Disaster Management Division, and will also serve as the Civil Defence Commissioner, a critical position especially during monsoon and disaster response seasons.

Multi-Departmental Roles for Arwa Rajkamal
In one of the most extensive role expansions, Arava Rajkamal has been given multiple significant assignments:

  • Secretary, Building Construction Department
  • Managing Director, Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Ltd
  • Resident Commissioner, Jharkhand Bhawan
  • Secretary, Mines and Geology Department
  • Secretary, Industries Department
  • Chairman, Jharkhand State Mineral Development Corporation Ltd
  • Additional Charge, Mines Commissioner

His expanded role spans across infrastructure, industry, and resource management, underlining the government’s trust in his administrative capabilities.

Other Notable Postings
A. Dodde, previously awaiting posting, has been appointed Special Secretary, Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms Department, and will also hold additional charge as Director, Land Acquisition, Land Records and Measurement.

Rajeshwari B has been transferred from the Finance Department and posted as Director, Panchayati Raj.

The full transfer list is given below-

The reshuffle, involving several mid- and senior-level IAS officers, is likely to have far-reaching implications for governance delivery, policy implementation, and administrative responsiveness across the state.

All officers have been instructed to take charge immediately at their new places of posting.
