Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren took a major step to strengthen law and order in the state by flagging off 1,477 new police vehicles for deployment across various districts. The initiative, aimed at enhancing police patrolling and crime control, was carried out at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly premises on Friday.
New Police Vehicles to Strengthen Patrolling and Quick Response
The fleet includes 628 four-wheelers (Bolero vehicles) and 849 two-wheelers (motorcycles), which will be deployed across urban and rural areas to ensure faster and more effective police response. CM Soren emphasized that these vehicles will particularly help the Quick Response Teams (QRT) in Naxal-affected and remote areas, enabling them to tackle crime efficiently.
“Today’s addition of vehicles marks a significant step in modernizing the police force and improving their ability to respond to incidents quickly,” said CM Soren. The initiative is expected to improve emergency assistance, traffic management, and overall policing efficiency, ensuring that police personnel can reach incidents promptly and execute law enforcement effectively.

Online Foundation of 12 State-of-the-Art Integrated Police Stations
Alongside the vehicle launch, CM Soren also inaugurated the online foundation of 12 modern integrated police stations, built at a cost of ₹19.25 crore. These stations will be established in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Deoghar, Dhanbad, East Singhbhum, Garhwa, Giridih, Palamu, Gumla, Chatra, and Dumka.
Each integrated station will host cyber cells, ST-SC cells, Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTU), and women’s police cells under a single roof, ensuring comprehensive policing and faster grievance resolution. The new stations are designed to provide modern facilities and enhance the operational capacity of the Jharkhand Police across multiple sectors.
Enhancing Law and Order Across Urban and Rural Areas
Officials noted that most existing police vehicles were outdated or non-functional, which often delayed response times. With these new vehicles, the Jharkhand Police can now reach crime scenes faster, patrol more effectively, and maintain stronger control over law and order.
CM Soren highlighted that modern resources, continuous training, and improved patrolling are crucial to ensure public safety. The initiative also focuses on strengthening surveillance in sensitive and remote areas, reducing crime rates, and providing citizens with a safer environment.

Officials and Ministers Present During the Launch
The event at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly was attended by key state ministers, including Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, Health Minister Irfan Ansari, Minister Sanjay Yadav, and Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirki. These dignitaries applauded the government’s efforts to modernize the police force and improve public safety.
Impact on Policing and Community Safety
The addition of 635 four-wheelers and 849 motorcycles is expected to strengthen patrolling, emergency response, and traffic management, ensuring that law enforcement reaches all districts effectively. The move also empowers frontline police personnel with modern resources, making policing more efficient and community-oriented.
“With these enhancements, Jharkhand Police will be better equipped to maintain law and order, prevent crime, and provide timely assistance in emergencies,” said senior officials. This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
