Ranchi: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amol Vinukant Homkar of the 2004 batch, Jharkhand cadre, is set to take charge as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on central deputation. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has formally communicated with the Jharkhand government, requesting his early release to enable him to assume the new responsibility at the central level.
Home Ministry Writes to Jharkhand Government
The Ministry of Home Affairs, in a letter dated 26 December, informed the Jharkhand government that the competent authority has accorded approval for the deputation of IPS officer Amol Vinukant Homkar to the CRPF. The letter specifically requested the state government to relieve him at the earliest, allowing him to take over as IG in the CRPF.
The deputation will be on a central deputation basis, a move seen as part of the Centre’s efforts to strengthen leadership in central armed police forces.

At present, IPS Amol Vinukant Homkar is serving as Inspector General (IG), Railways, Jharkhand Police. Following his formal release from this position by the state government, he will proceed to assume his new assignment as Inspector General in the CRPF.
