K Nikhila, an IAS officer of the 2015 batch from the Telangana cadre, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Telangana State Human Rights Commission. The appointment underscores the state government’s confidence in her administrative capabilities and her track record in public service.
Currently, K Nikhila is serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Telangana Institute of Rural Development (TGIRD), an important institution functioning under the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department. In her role at TGIRD, she has been instrumental in spearheading training, research, and capacity-building programs aimed at strengthening rural governance frameworks and promoting sustainable development in Telangana’s villages.
With her new role at the Human Rights Commission, Nikhila will be responsible for coordinating the Commission’s operations and facilitating inquiries into human rights violations pertaining to matters under the State List and Concurrent List of the Constitution’s Seventh Schedule.
