Karan Thapar Provided Extension As DPIIT, Director

The central deputation tenure of IRS Officer Karan Thapar as Director in the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has been extended for one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (07.01.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of DPIIT to extend the deputation tenure of Mr Thapar for a period of one year beyond 16.02.2025 and upto 16.02.2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. It is noteworthy that Sachin Kumar began his central deputation tenure on February 17, 2020.
