In a noteworthy administrative overhaul effective from January 1, 2025, the Karnataka government has announced the promotion of numerous officers, including 67 from the IAS cadre and 50 SPs elevated to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SPP).
Prominent IPS Promotions and New Assignments:
- Ramana Gupta has been appointed as the Additional Commissioner of Police in the Intelligence Division.
- Chetan Singh Rathod assumes the role of Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the North Eastern Zone, Belagavi.
- Vikas Kumar takes over as Additional Commissioner of Police for Bengaluru West.
- Amit Singh has been promoted to IGP for the Western Zone, Mangaluru.
- Vamshi Krishna is now Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Police Recruitment Division, Bengaluru.
- Kuldeep Kumar Jain has been promoted to DIG and designated as Joint Commissioner of Police for the Administrative Division.
- Santosh Babu and Isha Pant have been elevated to DIGs within the intelligence department.
- G. Sangeetha is now DIG for the CID Forest Unit.
- Seema Latkar continues as DIG, Mysuru Commissionerate.
- Renuka K. Sukumar assumes the role of DIG, Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE), Bengaluru.
- Dr. Bhimashankar Guled remains in his current position as SP, Belagavi.
- N. Shashi Kumar has been promoted to IGP for Hubballi-Dharwad City.
- Dr. Y.S. Ravi Kumar has taken over as IGP for Intelligence in Bengaluru.
