New Delhi: In a significant administrative development, Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer Krishna V R has been appointed as Director in the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) under the Department of Expenditure.
The appointment has been made on a lateral shift basis from the Department of Revenue, where Krishna V R was serving as Director.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (February 12, 2026), the competent authority approved the appointment on a co-terminus basis with the 8th Central Pay Commission.
Tenure Details and Service Conditions
The order states that the tenure of Krishna V R in the 8th CPC will be co-terminus with the Commission. The appointment is extendable up to September 17, 2029 — representing the balance of the admissible five-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme — or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Krishna V R had joined the Department of Revenue as Director on September 17, 2024, for a five-year tenure before being moved to the 8th Central Pay Commission through the present order.
