Lucknow: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation has prepared a proposal to provide specialised coaching to students studying in its institutions. The initiative aims to help talented students from economically weaker backgrounds get better opportunities to compete for top engineering institutes and government services.

The proposal is expected to be sent for approval to the Municipal Commissioner, and the programme may begin from the current academic session after approval.

Free Coaching for IIT, NIT and Engineering Entrance Exams

Under the proposed scheme, students of municipal corporation intermediate colleges will receive free coaching for engineering entrance examinations such as:

  • IIT entrance examinations
  • NIT admissions
  • Other reputed engineering entrance tests

The objective is to provide quality preparation support to students who may not be able to afford private coaching.

The municipal administration believes that the initiative will help deserving students achieve admission to premier institutions through proper guidance and academic support.

UPSC and UPPSC Coaching Facility at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Degree College

Apart from engineering entrance preparation, the Municipal Corporation has planned a separate coaching programme for civil services aspirants.

At the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Degree College in Ismailganj, students will receive preparation support for:

  • Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations
  • Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC/PCS)
  • Civil services examinations
  • Other government competitive exams

The facility aims to create a dedicated learning environment where students can prepare systematically with expert guidance.

Coaching Classes to Be Held After Regular School Hours

Lucknow Municipal Corporation officials said that the coaching programme will not affect students’ regular academic schedule.

According to Additional Municipal Commissioner Arun Kumar Gupta, coaching classes will be conducted after completion of normal school hours so that students can continue their regular studies without disruption.

Students will be able to prepare for competitive examinations within their own school and college campuses.

Subject Experts to Train Students

The Municipal Corporation plans to appoint subject experts on a contractual basis to provide specialised training.

These teachers will guide students in important areas, including:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • General Studies
  • Reasoning and logical ability
  • Other examination-specific subjects

Special attention will be given to students preparing for both engineering entrance examinations and administrative services.

Programme to Begin After Municipal Commissioner’s Approval

The proposal will soon be placed before the Municipal Commissioner for final approval.

Once approved, the coaching programme is expected to start during the ongoing academic session.

The administration is also working on arranging:

  • Qualified teachers
  • Learning resources
  • Necessary infrastructure
  • Academic support systems

The aim is to ensure that students receive quality coaching comparable to private institutes.

Initiative Aimed at Providing Equal Opportunities

The main purpose of the scheme is to support students from financially weaker families who have academic potential but lack access to expensive coaching facilities.

Through free coaching, the Municipal Corporation aims to bridge the gap between students who can afford private preparation and those who cannot.

Officials believe that the programme will help more students from municipal schools compete successfully in national and state-level examinations.

Municipal Schools Expected to Gain More Popularity

The Lucknow Municipal Corporation believes that most students studying in its schools come from lower-income families.

Providing competitive exam coaching within these institutions is expected to:

  • Improve the quality of education
  • Increase confidence among students
  • Enhance the reputation of municipal schools and colleges
  • Encourage more admissions in future years

The initiative could also strengthen the image of municipal educational institutions by turning them into centres for academic growth and career preparation.

New Education Model for Municipal Institutions in Lucknow

With this initiative, Lucknow Municipal Corporation aims to transform its schools and colleges into platforms that provide not only basic education but also career-oriented support.

The proposed free coaching programme for IIT, NIT, UPSC and UPPSC aspirants is expected to open new pathways for students and help talented youth achieve their professional goals without financial barriers.
