Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Regional AI Impact Conference-2026 at Taj Lake Front, Bhopal, emphasizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a transformative force for governance, industry, and society. Addressing a gathering of policymakers, industry leaders, and technology experts, the Chief Minister outlined the state’s roadmap to harness AI for citizen-centric, transparent, and efficient administration.
“AI is no longer just a technology; it is a key driver for governance, economic growth, and social impact. Madhya Pradesh will soon introduce its comprehensive AI Policy and work in mission mode to integrate AI across government, health, and mining sectors,” Dr. Yadav said.
SpaceTech Policy-2026 Launched
During the conference, Dr. Yadav unveiled the Madhya Pradesh SpaceTech Policy-2026, aimed at positioning the state as a forward-looking hub in India’s growing space sector. The policy is designed to support startups, MSMEs, and industries through financial, infrastructural, and research assistance for space-based applications in agriculture, disaster management, water resources, and urban planning.
“This initiative will strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s role in India’s national space ecosystem while promoting investment, innovation, and sustainable technological growth,” the Chief Minister added.

AI Literacy Mission and Skill Development
As part of the AI Literacy Mission, Dr. Yadav flagged off the “Skill Chariot,” a mobile AI computer lab aimed at spreading AI awareness and skills to schools, colleges, ITIs, government officials, and rural communities. The mission focuses on bridging the digital divide in semi-urban and rural areas while preparing the youth for AI-enabled careers.
The initiative aligns with the government’s Digital India, Skill India, and NEP-2020 goals, aiming to make AI literacy a fundamental life skill and promote ethical, responsible AI usage in governance.
MOUs and Innovation Partnerships
Under Dr. Yadav’s leadership, seven major MOUs were signed with organizations including Youngovator (Answer Foundation), CEEW, Google, NASSCOM, AISECT, and Bhashini. These agreements focus on:
- Promoting AI-based research in climate change and sustainable development.
- Encouraging AI adoption in government departments and cloud technology.
- Establishing AI Centers of Excellence and training programs for students and officials.
- Expanding access to AI education in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities through 30 AI & Data Labs in Madhya Pradesh.
“These partnerships will drive innovation, skill development, and AI-enabled governance across the state,” said Ashish Vashisth, General Manager of MP State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd.
AI Roadmap and Strategic Pillars
Additional Chief Secretary, Science & Technology, Sanjay Dubey, presented the state’s AI vision, highlighting a roadmap based on the principle “AI for People, Planet, and Progress”. The state has identified four strategic pillars for effective AI adoption:
- Infrastructure: Development of GPU-enabled computing resources, secure digital platforms, and shared AI infrastructure accessible to startups and industries.
- Data: Integration of administrative, sectoral, and geospatial datasets for reliable analytics.
- Talent: Training officials, field staff, and students in AI, data science, and governance.
- Strategy: Mission-based, ethical AI focusing on human-in-the-loop systems, transparency, and reusable solutions.
“These pillars will transform AI from an experimental technology into an institutional capability for governance and development,” Dubey said.

AI Applications Across Governance
The conference also showcased state-level AI applications:
- SAARA-DCS App: Real-time crop monitoring.
- AGRIGIS System: Crop forecasting, health monitoring, and insurance claim settlement.
- AI-enabled LCMS: Automated case management in labor departments.
- Smart Policing: Crime prevention, investigation, and citizen safety.
These initiatives demonstrate Madhya Pradesh as a model for data-driven, citizen-centric governance.
National AI Ecosystem and Youth Leadership
Abhishek Singh, CEO of India AI, highlighted India’s growing role in global AI implementation, emphasizing AI initiatives led by the country’s youth. He noted that India currently ranks third in AI adoption and that indigenous AI platforms, including a ChatGPT-like system, are being developed.
Innovation Expo Highlights
The conference inaugurated the Madhya Pradesh Innovation Expo, featuring India AI Pavilion, MP Pavilion, and a startup showcase. The exhibit highlighted AI-driven innovations in governance, agriculture, and citizen services, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a forward-looking, data-driven, and AI-enabled state.
