SCILAL Signs MoU with Synergy Marine Group to Boost Maritime Training and Research in India

Mumbai: Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets Limited (SCILAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore-based Synergy Marine Group to collaborate on maritime training, research, and knowledge exchange. The agreement was executed on April 6, 2026, at 3:30 PM IST, marking a strategic step to strengthen India’s maritime sector.

Strategic Partnership to Strengthen India’s Maritime Sector

The MoU aims to enhance India’s maritime capabilities through international collaboration. SCILAL, a Government of India enterprise, will work with Synergy Marine Group to develop structured training programs for seafarers and maritime professionals.

The partnership focuses on three core areas:

  1. Maritime Training – Developing skill-based programs for workforce readiness
  2. Research Initiatives – Conducting joint studies to improve operational efficiency and safety standards
  3. Knowledge Exchange – Sharing global best practices and technical expertise

By leveraging international expertise, the collaboration is expected to elevate India’s maritime training ecosystem and build stronger global linkages in maritime operations.
