Indore: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced plans to institutionalize Garbh Sanskaar (womb education or foetal mentoring) in the state, aiming to instil values in children even before birth. The initiative will be implemented through medical universities and government hospitals across Madhya Pradesh.
Garbh Sanskaar: Ancient Practice for Modern Times
CM Yadav explained that Garbh Sanskaar is an Ayurveda-based ancient Indian practice that promotes the physical, mental, and moral development of the foetus through the pregnant mother’s thoughts, diet, and conduct.
- The practice is rooted in Sanatan culture, historically emphasized in references to mythological figures such as Abhimanyu and Ashtavakra
- Modern science and even allopathy experts now recognize the significance of Garbh Sanskaar, according to the CM

Dedicated Garbh Sanskaar Rooms in Hospitals
Dr. Yadav announced that:
- Government hospitals will have dedicated Garbh Sanskaar rooms for prenatal education
- Both AYUSH and allopathy systems will adopt the practice in their maternity care programs
- The state plans to issue a gazette notification formalizing these arrangements
Garbh Sanskaar Education in Medical Universities
The CM highlighted plans to introduce Garbh Sanskaar study programs in all state medical universities. This will help train healthcare professionals to:
- Guide expecting parents on the benefits of Garbh Sanskaar
- Ensure holistic maternal and child development
- Empower future generations physically, mentally, and morally
Book Release and Awareness Initiatives
During the Divya Santaan Prakalp programme in Indore, CM Yadav released a book on Garbh Sanskaar, promoting public understanding of the practice.
Senior RSS leader Suresh ‘Bhaiyyaji’ Joshi emphasized that young couples should seriously study Garbh Sanskaar and that a large-scale awareness campaign is necessary for widespread adoption.
Madhya Pradesh is moving to integrate traditional prenatal education into modern healthcare. With dedicated rooms in hospitals, study programs in medical universities, and public awareness campaigns, the state aims to strengthen future generations physically, mentally, and morally through the ancient practice of Garbh Sanskaar.
