In a significant administrative move, the Madhya Pradesh Home Department has carried out a large-scale reshuffle of 62 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, impacting both senior leadership roles and district-level policing across the state. The transfer orders were issued late Saturday night, signalling a strategic realignment aimed at strengthening governance and operational efficiency.
Senior-Level Appointments and Key Changes
Among the top-level changes, Ravi Kumar Gupta has been assigned the role of Special Director General of Police (Training) along with the responsibility of heading the Police Academy in Bhouri, Bhopal. Rajababu Singh will now serve as Additional Director General of Police (Rail), based in Bhopal.
D.P. Gupta has been entrusted with a wide portfolio that includes community policing, RTI, public service delivery mechanisms, cooperative fraud, research and development, and police reforms. Meanwhile, Solomon Yash Kumar Minz will oversee departments related to complaints, human rights, and welfare accounts.
Several officers have also been repositioned at the DIG level:
- Amit Singh takes charge as DIG Armed Force in Indore Range
- Awadhesh Kumar Goswami moves to Police Headquarters, Bhopal
- Amit Sanghi joins as DIG Home Guard/SDERF
- Virendra Kumar Singh assumes charge of Narmadapuram Range
- Prashant Khare returns to headquarters
Additional officers, including Manish Kumar Agrawal, Manoj Kumar Rai, Riaz Iqbal, Rahul Kumar Lodha, and Simala Prasad, have also been posted to key DIG roles at the state headquarters.

The reshuffle has significantly impacted district policing, with multiple Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) positions reassigned.

- Rahul Deshmukh has been appointed as aide to the governor.
