Madhya Pradesh IPS Transfers: Ravi Kumar Gupta Appointed Special DGP Training as 62 Officers Reshuffled

Madhya Pradesh reshuffles 62 IPS officers. Ravi Kumar Gupta becomes Special DGP Training, while Rajababu Singh, D.P. Gupta, and Solomon Yash Kumar Minz receive key postings across the state.

In a significant administrative move, the Madhya Pradesh Home Department has carried out a large-scale reshuffle of 62 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, impacting both senior leadership roles and district-level policing across the state. The transfer orders were issued late Saturday night, signalling a strategic realignment aimed at strengthening governance and operational efficiency.

Senior-Level Appointments and Key Changes

Among the top-level changes, Ravi Kumar Gupta has been assigned the role of Special Director General of Police (Training) along with the responsibility of heading the Police Academy in Bhouri, Bhopal. Rajababu Singh will now serve as Additional Director General of Police (Rail), based in Bhopal.

D.P. Gupta has been entrusted with a wide portfolio that includes community policing, RTI, public service delivery mechanisms, cooperative fraud, research and development, and police reforms. Meanwhile, Solomon Yash Kumar Minz will oversee departments related to complaints, human rights, and welfare accounts.

Several officers have also been repositioned at the DIG level:

  • Amit Singh takes charge as DIG Armed Force in Indore Range
  • Awadhesh Kumar Goswami moves to Police Headquarters, Bhopal
  • Amit Sanghi joins as DIG Home Guard/SDERF
  • Virendra Kumar Singh assumes charge of Narmadapuram Range
  • Prashant Khare returns to headquarters

Additional officers, including Manish Kumar Agrawal, Manoj Kumar Rai, Riaz Iqbal, Rahul Kumar Lodha, and Simala Prasad, have also been posted to key DIG roles at the state headquarters.

District-Level Postings and Field Restructuring

The reshuffle has significantly impacted district policing, with multiple Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) positions reassigned.

Urban Policing Changes:

  • Aman Singh Rathore – DCP Indore
  • Vikas Kumar Sahwal – DCP Bhopal
  • Sunil Kumar Mehta – DCP Indore
  • Ayush Gupta & Adarshkant Shukla – DCP Bhopal
  • Narendra Rawat & Abhishek Ranjan – DCP Indore

Other Notable Field Postings:

  • Sonakshi Saxena – SP Sehore
  • Mayur Khandelwal – SP Datia
  • Shiyaz KM – SP Singrauli
  • Anand Kaladgi – SP Damoh
  • Krishnalal Chandani – SP Seoni

In addition, several officers have been assigned to battalion command roles and railway police units, ensuring balanced deployment across specialised divisions.

Additional Administrative Updates

  • Anil Kumar has been relieved from additional responsibilities related to Accounts and welfare.
  • Mohd Shahid Absar is no longer holding additional charge of the Police Academy
  • Aditya Mishra has been given extra responsibility for Hawk Force operations in Balaghat
  • Rahul Deshmukh has been appointed as aide to the governor.

This extensive reshuffle is expected to inject fresh momentum into Madhya Pradesh’s policing framework. By redistributing leadership across key verticals and districts, the state government aims to enhance law enforcement efficiency, improve public service delivery, and strengthen institutional accountability.
