Khargone: Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 60 MW Jalud Solar Power Plant built at a cost of ₹271 crore in Khargone district, calling it a “national achievement” and a major step toward India’s green energy transition.
The plant, located near Maheshwar in Jalud, is expected to significantly boost renewable energy generation and support sustainable development in the region.
India’s First PPP Model Solar Plant with Green Bond Funding
CM Yadav highlighted that the Jalud Solar Power Plant is India’s first public-private partnership (PPP) model solar project developed through a Green Bond mechanism.
Key features of the project include:
- 60 MW solar power capacity
- ₹271 crore investment
- Citizen participation through green bonds
- Strong support from the Government of India
He said the initiative makes citizens partners in clean energy development and sets a new model for infrastructure financing.

Green Energy Push to Benefit Indore Municipal Corporation
The electricity generated from the plant will benefit the Indore Municipal Corporation and help reduce carbon emissions.
The Chief Minister stated that:
- The project will reduce pollution
- Carbon emissions will decline significantly
- The cost of investment will be recovered in 10 years
- The next 10 years will generate pure profit
He added that Madhya Pradesh is becoming a leader in affordable and clean electricity production.
Citizens Can Invest Through Green Bonds
CM Yadav also announced that citizens can invest in the project through green bonds of ₹1 lakh each, with attractive returns.
Key benefits include:
- Approx. 8% annual return
- Investment tenure up to 20 years
- Option to trade bonds if required
He said this initiative allows people to earn while supporting sustainable development.

The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh has transformed from a state once facing power shortages to one of the most reliable electricity providers in India.
He noted that MP’s electricity is now being used in major infrastructure projects, including metro systems in other states.
Focus on Science, Technology and Vedic Knowledge Systems
CM Yadav also highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s initiatives in combining modern science with ancient Indian knowledge systems.
He mentioned:
- Development of a Vedic clock in Ujjain and Kashi Vishwanath Temple
- Use of astronomical calculations based on ancient Indian texts
- Expansion of Vedic clocks across all 12 Jyotirlinga sites
He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently reviewed the Vedic clock installed in Varanasi.
Maheshwar Region Highlighted for Historical Significance
The Chief Minister praised the Maheshwar-Mandleshwar region for its historical and cultural importance, mentioning:
- Ancient knowledge traditions
- Association with philosopher Mandan Mishra
- Example of early women empowerment in Indian history
- Contributions of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar in temple restoration
He said the region has long been a center of knowledge and spirituality.
Strong Agricultural Support for Farmers
CM Yadav also stated that wheat procurement is being managed efficiently in the state, and the government has increased wheat support prices by over ₹400 per quintal in two years, benefiting farmers significantly.

Senior leaders including state ministers and MPs praised the project, calling it a milestone in India’s renewable energy journey.
They said the Jalud Solar Plant demonstrates how public participation, government vision, and clean energy innovation can come together for sustainable development.
