Bhopal/Shajapur/Khargone: Mohan Yadav on April 30 made a surprise visit to wheat procurement centres in Shajapur and Khargone districts, where he reviewed arrangements and directly interacted with farmers to understand their experience and challenges.
During the visit, the Chief Minister was seen climbing onto a tractor trolley and personally engaging with farmers, an act that quickly went viral on social media.
Surprise Inspection at Shajapur and Khargone Procurement Centres
CM Yadav first reached the Katarganv procurement centre in Khargone district, where he inspected wheat purchasing operations and reviewed facilities available for farmers.
He later visited Makodi Shyama Warehouse in Shajapur district, where he once again interacted closely with farmers and examined the wheat weighing process.
At both locations, he took stock of procurement arrangements and issued necessary instructions to officials.

Direct Interaction with Farmers and Ground Feedback
The Chief Minister held informal and direct discussions with farmers, asking them about:
- Procurement experience
- Availability of facilities
- Waiting time for weighing
- Payment and support systems
Farmers appreciated the Chief Minister’s hands-on approach and described his visit as encouraging and farmer-friendly.
Focus on Improved Procurement Infrastructure
The Madhya Pradesh government has strengthened procurement centres with multiple facilities, including:
- Shade and seating arrangements for farmers
- Drinking water facilities
- Increased number of weighing scales
- Better infrastructure for wheat procurement
Officials informed that the number of weighing scales has been increased to six per centre to ensure faster operations and reduce waiting time.

CM Issues Strict Instructions to Officials
CM Yadav directed district officials and mandi administration to ensure smooth procurement operations. Key instructions included:
- Installation of six functional weighing scales at all centres
- Adequate availability of gunny bags (bardana)
- Continuous wheat weighing operations without delay
- Proper tent, seating, and drinking water arrangements
- Availability of computers, internet, operators, and booking systems
He emphasized that all procurement centres must remain fully equipped and operational throughout the procurement season.
“Farmer Welfare is Top Priority”: CM
The Chief Minister reiterated that ensuring fair price and timely procurement for farmers is the top priority of the state government.
He said any issue faced by farmers during procurement should be resolved immediately, and all necessary facilities must be provided without compromise.
