Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will transfer more than ₹304.985 crore directly into the bank accounts of around 1.22 lakh meritorious Class 12 students on September 1 under the state’s Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana (Meritorious Student Incentive Scheme).

Under the scheme, students who secured 75% or more marks in the Class 12 examination in their first attempt will receive an incentive of ₹25,000 each to purchase laptops.

The amount will be transferred during a distribution programme to be held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal.

₹25,000 Laptop Incentive for Meritorious Students

The state government is implementing the scheme through the School Education Department with the objective of encouraging academic excellence and helping meritorious students gain access to modern digital technology.

Students meeting the eligibility criteria will receive ₹25,000 directly in their bank accounts. The financial assistance is intended specifically to enable them to purchase laptops and support their educational needs.

According to Public Relations Officer Sunil Verma, approximately 1.22 lakh students across Madhya Pradesh are expected to benefit from the scheme this year.

With each student receiving ₹25,000, the total amount being transferred by the state government will exceed ₹304.985 crore.

Students Scoring 75% or More to Benefit

The incentive is available to students who have secured 75% or above marks in Class 12 in their first attempt.

The scheme seeks to recognise students who have demonstrated strong academic performance while also ensuring that financial limitations do not prevent them from accessing digital learning resources.

The laptop assistance is particularly aimed at helping students transition from school education to higher education, where access to online resources and digital platforms has become increasingly important.

Scheme Aims to Promote Digital Education

The Madhya Pradesh government has positioned the initiative as an effort to connect meritorious students with modern technology and strengthen their access to digital education.

Laptops provided through the financial assistance can help students access online study material, e-learning platforms, digital courses, educational videos and other academic resources.

The government believes that access to such technology can provide students with additional opportunities to prepare for competitive examinations and pursue higher studies.

Direct Benefit Transfer to Students’ Accounts

The ₹25,000 incentive will be transferred directly into the eligible students’ bank accounts, providing them with financial assistance for purchasing a laptop of their choice.

The direct transfer mechanism is intended to ensure that the benefit reaches eligible students without an intermediary.

The programme on September 1 will formally mark the distribution of the laptop purchase incentive to this year’s beneficiaries.

₹304.985 Crore Investment in Student Empowerment

The transfer of more than ₹304.985 crore represents a substantial investment by the Madhya Pradesh government in supporting meritorious students.

By linking academic achievement with financial assistance for digital equipment, the Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana combines recognition of student performance with efforts to improve access to technology.

The initiative is expected to help around 1.22 lakh students acquire laptops and use them as an important educational resource during their higher studies.
