Patna: Bihar government has issued a fresh administrative and police reshuffle, giving a new posting to Bihar Administrative Service (BAS) officer Sanjeet Kumar, who had been removed from his position as SDO Jagdishpur following allegations surrounding the encounter of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari.

Sanjeet Kumar has now been posted as Deputy Collector Land Reforms (DCLR), Supaul Sadar. He had been waiting for a new assignment for nearly a month after being removed from Jagdishpur on July 24.

The General Administration Department (GAD) also issued separate notifications late Saturday night transferring three IAS officers and assigning new responsibilities to 27 DSP-rank police officers across Bihar.

Sanjeet Kumar Gets New Posting in Supaul

Sanjeet Kumar, who was serving as SDO Jagdishpur, was removed from the post on July 24 following controversy surrounding the encounter of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari.

The action came shortly after Asha Devi, mother of Bharat Tiwari, met Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and demanded the officer’s removal.

Following his removal, Sanjeet Kumar was attached to the General Administration Department (GAD) headquarters in Patna, where he remained without a field posting.

After waiting for around one month, he has now been assigned the post of DCLR, Supaul Sadar.

The new posting comes amid continued attention surrounding the circumstances of the encounter and the administrative action that followed.

Three IAS Officers Transferred

Alongside the posting of Sanjeet Kumar, the Bihar government has transferred three IAS officers as part of the latest administrative changes.

Sunil Kumar (IAS:2014) has been shifted from his position as Managing Director, Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation (BSFC). He has now been posted as Director, Audit, Finance Department.

Anjani Kumar (IAS:2016), who was serving as Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad, Purnia, has been transferred to the Rural Development Department and posted as Commissioner, VB-G RAM G.

Following the appointment, Ananya Singh, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Jeevika, has been relieved of the additional charge of Commissioner, VB-G RAM G.

The third officer, Abhay Jha (IAS:2017), has also been given an important new assignment. He has been shifted from the post of Additional Secretary, Rural Works Department, and appointed Managing Director, Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, until further orders.

Jha will additionally hold the charge of Additional Secretary, Food and Consumer Protection Department.

Sonu Kumar Rai Gets SP Administration, Patna Charge

The latest reshuffle has also brought changes in the police administration in the state.

Sonu Kumar Rai has been given the important responsibility of SP (Administration), Patna.

The government has also reassigned 27 DSP-rank police officers across different parts of Bihar.

The transfers cover several districts and police units, including Saran, Ara, Vaishali and Begusarai, as the state government reorganises responsibilities at the deputy superintendent level.

27 DSPs Shifted Across Bihar

The movement of the 27 DSP-rank officers forms a significant part of the latest police reshuffle.

The officers have been assigned new responsibilities across different districts and police formations. The changes include postings in and around key areas such as Saran, Ara, Vaishali and Begusarai.

The latest orders are expected to strengthen field-level policing and administrative supervision across the state.

Latest Reshuffle Brings Administrative and Police Changes

The back-to-back GAD notifications have resulted in changes across both the civil administration and police hierarchy.

While Sanjeet Kumar has finally received a field posting after spending nearly a month at GAD headquarters, the three IAS transfers have altered responsibilities in the finance, rural development, food and civil supplies and food and consumer protection departments.

At the police level, the reassignment of 27 DSP-rank officers and the appointment of Sonu Kumar Rai as SP (Administration), Patna, mark the latest changes in Bihar’s policing structure.

The government is expected to issue further posting and transfer orders as part of its ongoing administrative adjustments.
