MCL Signs MoUs with IIM Raipur and IIM Visakhapatnam to Train 800 Officers in AI and Machine Learning Skills

New Delhi: In a significant move to accelerate digital transformation in India’s mining sector, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed bilateral Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Visakhapatnam. The partnerships aim to equip 800 MCL officers with advanced skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and other future-ready technologies.

The initiative reflects MCL’s commitment to building a digitally empowered workforce capable of driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening decision-making across the organization.

MCL Partners with Premier IIMs for Digital Skill Development

The MoUs were signed by:

  • Mr. Keshav Rao, Director (Human Resources), MCL
  • Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, Dean (Academics), IIM Visakhapatnam
  • Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-Charge, IIM Raipur

The signing ceremony was held at MCL Headquarters in the presence of Mr. Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of MCL, along with Functional Directors and senior company officials.

800 Officers to Receive AI and Machine Learning Training

Under the collaboration, around 800 MCL officers will undergo specialized training in emerging digital technologies designed to prepare them for the evolving demands of the mining industry.

The programme will cover:

  • AI-driven data analytics
  • Digital transformation strategies
  • Technology-enabled management practices
