MIDHANI CMD Dr. S.V.S. Narayana Murty Gets 1-Month Extension as Director (Production & Marketing)

New Delhi: The Ministry of Defence has approved the extension of Dr. S.V.S. Narayana Murty, Chairman and Managing Director of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), in his additional charge as Director (Production & Marketing) for a further period of one month, effective October 1, 2025.

The development was confirmed through a regulatory filing made by the company today.

Details of the Extension

In a letter dated September 18, 2025, the Department of Defence Production, under the Ministry of Defence, conveyed the approval of the competent authority for extending Dr. Murty’s additional charge.

“The extension shall be effective from October 1, 2025, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders — whichever comes earlier,” the company stated in its filing.

Dr. Murty has been holding the dual responsibility of CMD and Director (Production & Marketing) at MIDHANI, a key public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence that specializes in the manufacture of critical materials for defence, space, and strategic sectors.

About Dr. S.V.S. Narayana Murty

Before taking charge at MIDHANI, Dr. Murty served with distinction at ISRO’s Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC). There, he played a pivotal role in the indigenization and supply of critical materials essential to India’s space program — particularly those used in advanced propulsion systems.

With his background in materials science and extensive leadership experience, Dr. Murty has been instrumental in strengthening MIDHANI’s production capabilities and market outreach, especially in the defence and aerospace sectors.
