The Ministry of Culture, recently organised a 3-day State Museum Conclave on Yug Yugeen Bharat Museum from August 1 to 3, 2024 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Present in this Conclave were delegates from all 28 states and 8 union territories, who made presentations on their museums.
IAS Rahul Kumar (2011 batch), the incumbent Director of Museums made a presentation from Bihar which got the Best Presentation Award in East Zone comprising the states of Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and other eastern states along with Bihar.
Earlier on day 1, the Conclave was inaugurated by Hon’ble Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in the august presence of Secretary Govind Mohan (1989 batch IAS officer), and Ms. Mugdha Sinha (1999 batch IAS officer), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture.
The Director of UNESCO, South Asia, Mr. Tim Curtis; Mr. D. Damodaran, Senior Professor, IIM, Bangalore also graced the conclave. There were 150 participants from all states. From Bihar, apart from Officer Rahul Kumar, the Director; Mr. Arvind Mahajan, Curator Gaya Museum and Ravishankar Gupta. Curatorial Associate represented the state.
