The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Department of Consumer Affairs Secretary, Nidhi Khare, visited the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) headquarters in New Delhi. The visit included an in-depth review of IREDA’s performance and future strategies, along with an interactive session with senior officials.

Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, warmly welcomed Khare and presented the organisation’s key achievements from the past five years. He underscored IREDA’s pivotal role in advancing the Government of India’s renewable energy targets, particularly its commitment to achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based electricity generation by 2030 in line with the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision.

The presentation highlighted IREDA’s efforts in sectoral financing, diversification, growth planning, and fundraising. The CMD also discussed the agency’s strides in Ease of Doing Business, digitalisation, and automation, as well as the establishment of a wholly-owned subsidiary at the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Gujarat’s GIFT City. Emphasis was placed on the agency’s improved asset quality through robust borrower engagement.

IREDA’s record-breaking performance was also noted, including becoming the first company to publish its Q3 Audited Financial Results within just nine days. The organisation’s commitment to maintaining high standards of corporate governance was commended as a benchmark for Indian businesses.

Khare lauded IREDA’s accomplishments and its crucial contribution to the nation’s renewable energy ambitions. She assured full support from MNRE to help accelerate renewable energy sector growth and further drive the decarbonisation of India’s economy.
