Bhopal: On the occasion of the 136th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid floral tribute at the Baba Saheb Ambedkar statue located at Board Office Square in Bhopal. The Chief Minister honored Ambedkar’s legacy by offering garlands and flowers and joined citizens and public representatives in paying respects.
Tribute Paid at Ambedkar Statue in Bhopal
The Chief Minister visited the Ambedkar statue at the prominent Board Office Square and offered floral tributes. A large number of public representatives and citizens were present during the ceremony.
During the event, Dr. Yadav also participated in the reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution along with attendees and raised slogans of “Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Amar Rahe,” reflecting deep respect for the architect of the Constitution.
Remembering Ambedkar’s Role in Building Modern India
Speaking on the occasion, CM Mohan Yadav described Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as a key architect of modern India. He said that Ambedkar’s contribution to drafting the Indian Constitution laid the foundation for equality, justice, and protection of fundamental rights for all citizens.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Ambedkar devoted his life to uplifting marginalized, oppressed, and underprivileged communities and worked tirelessly for their social, economic, educational, and political empowerment.
Constitution Preamble Reading and Unity Message
As part of the program, the Chief Minister led a collective reading of the Constitution’s Preamble. He reiterated that India’s progress depends on unity and collective effort.
He also echoed the national vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” underlining inclusive development and social harmony.
Government Initiatives Inspired by Ambedkar’s Ideals
CM Yadav highlighted several state initiatives and development projects inspired by Ambedkar’s ideals. These include:
- Naming an overbridge in Bhopal after Dr. Ambedkar
- Construction of a grand memorial in Mhow (Dr. Ambedkar Nagar)
- Launch of welfare schemes such as Kamdhenu Yojana and Economic Welfare Scheme
- Development of Dr. Ambedkar Dham in Gwalior
- Naming of Sagar sanctuary after Baba Saheb
He said these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to preserving Ambedkar’s legacy.
Panchteerth Development Highlighted
The Chief Minister also highlighted the development of the “Panchteerth” sites associated with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, including:
- Birthplace: Mhow (Madhya Pradesh)
- Education Land: London
- Initiation Land: Nagpur
- Mahaparinirvan Sthal: Delhi
- Chaitya Bhoomi: Mumbai
He said these sites symbolize Ambedkar’s struggle, vision, and lifelong contribution to social transformation.
Focus on Women Empowerment and Social Equality
CM Yadav emphasized that Ambedkar strongly advocated for women’s education and rights. He noted that India is continuing this vision through modern policies focused on women empowerment.
He referred to the proposed “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,” which aims to provide 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state legislatures. He said this initiative, supported under the leadership of Narendra Modi, would be a historic step toward strengthening women’s political participation.
Commitment to Equality and Inclusive Development
Concluding the event, CM Mohan Yadav reaffirmed that the Madhya Pradesh government is committed to following Ambedkar’s ideals of equality, justice, and social harmony. He stressed that continuous efforts are being made to ensure inclusive development for all sections of society.
The Ambedkar Jayanti celebration in Bhopal reflected both tribute and a reaffirmation of constitutional values that continue to guide India’s democratic framework.
