Sagar: Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, inaugurated the newly constructed Gyanveer University campus in Sagar, calling it a new chapter in education for Bundelkhand’s youth. Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav emphasized India’s rich maternalistic cultural heritage, its historic role as a global knowledge leader, and its emerging prominence in artificial intelligence and modern technology under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Honoring Dr. Hari Singh Gour’s Legacy
CM Yadav highlighted the contributions of educationist Dr. Hari Singh Gour, who laid the foundation for higher education in Bundelkhand by establishing institutions in Sagar, including the Central University. He noted that graduates from these institutions have achieved recognition nationally and internationally, further cementing Bundelkhand’s reputation as a center of academic excellence.

Gyanveer University: Modern Education for Bundelkhand Youth
The university was inaugurated by CM Yadav in the presence of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput. The institution is named to honor the CM’s parents, Gyanbai and Veer Singh, symbolizing respect and gratitude.
The university aims to open new opportunities for Bundelkhand’s youth, equipping them with skills and knowledge in line with modern industry and technology. CM Yadav urged students to excel in skills and technology to stay competitive globally.
Moot Court for Law Students: Practical Learning Initiative
CM Yadav visited the university’s Moot Court, a simulated courtroom for law students to practice advocacy, legal documentation, and courtroom protocols. He praised this initiative as essential for hands-on learning, helping students gain confidence and practical experience before appearing in High Courts or the Supreme Court.
Bundelkhand’s Development and Heritage
CM Yadav reflected on Bundelkhand’s heroic history, citing Maharaja Chhatrasal, Alha, and Udal, whose bravery and commitment to protecting the motherland remain an inspiration. He also noted that under his and previous governments, significant development initiatives worth ₹27,500 crore have been implemented in the region, boosting infrastructure, education, health, and employment opportunities.
Promoting Traditional Bundeli Culture and Cuisine
During his visit, CM Yadav appreciated Bundeli cultural performances, including folk music, traditional instruments, and local arts. He also highlighted the health benefits of Bundeli cuisine, made from millets like jowar, bajra, and maize, and emphasized supporting local culinary heritage under ‘Vocal for Local’.
His meal included traditional dishes such as methi-chana curry, kadhi pakora, dahi vada, bizoare, kachori, mahri, khichla, papad, mangodi, Gujarati namkeen, chironji barfi, and mango-lemon achar, showcasing the region’s rich culinary and cultural heritage.

CM Yadav Applauds India’s Global Educational and Technological Leadership
CM Yadav emphasized that India has historically shared knowledge globally through institutions like Takshashila and Nalanda, and today, India is emerging as a global leader in AI and modern technology. He congratulated students and citizens for contributing to India’s prestige in education, sports, and international arenas, noting that Indian professionals now hold top positions worldwide.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla, MLAs Gopal Bhargava, Bhupendra Singh, Shailendra Jain, Pradeep Lariya, Braj Bihari Pateria, Virendra Singh Lodhi, MLA Nirmala Sapre, Mayor Sangeeta Sushil Tiwari, and district officials. Minister Govind Singh Rajput praised CM Yadav’s consistent contribution to Sagar’s educational and infrastructural growth, noting that the CM initiated Gyanveer University while serving as Higher Education Minister.
