Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is making history by initiating the establishment of medical colleges on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode, marking the first time such a model has been adopted in India, said Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
Medical Colleges to Expand Across Multiple Districts
Under the first phase, medical colleges are being established in Dhar, Panna, Katni, and Betul. The second phase includes Tikamgarh, Bhind, Morena, Khargone, Ashoknagar, Guna, Balaghat, Sidhi, and Shajapur. The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improve medical education, and ensure better access to quality health services for residents across the state.
Tikamgarh District Hospital Upgraded
With the establishment of the medical college in Tikamgarh, the capacity of the district hospital has been increased from 300 beds to 500, with the creation of 160 new posts to manage the expanded facilities. Last year, an additional 100-bed building was constructed at a cost of ₹16 crore. The hospital will now offer specialized services, including:
- Emergency services and trauma care
- Chemotherapy and dialysis
- Intensive neonatal care unit (NICU)
- Family welfare, prenatal care, and immunizations
- Outpatient labs and radiology
Additionally, the state has approved 810 new posts for hospitals in Tikamgarh, Neemuch, Singrauli, Sheopur, and Dindori to enhance patient care under various health schemes.
Youth of Tikamgarh Express Gratitude
Young people from Tikamgarh visited the Chief Minister’s residence to express their appreciation for the improved medical facilities. Dr. Yadav was honored with a garland of elephants, a memento, and a ceremonial mace. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and Minister of State Narendra Shivaji Patel were also present during the event.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that the state government remains committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, expanding educational opportunities, and ensuring that residents receive timely, high-quality medical services.
