Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, held a crucial meeting at the state secretariat on Tuesday, approving multiple initiatives for youth empowerment, farmer support, healthcare, and property rights. The decisions aim to enhance governance, social welfare, and economic stability across the state.
Farmers to Benefit from Enhanced Minimum Support Prices
The Cabinet approved Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for key crops to aid farmers in Madhya Pradesh. Key highlights include:
- Wheat MSP: ₹2,625 per quintal (₹2,585 by the Centre, ₹40 by the state).
- Urad MSP: ₹600 per quintal to support pulses farmers.
MSME Minister Chaitanyakashyap stated that these measures would protect farmers’ interests and ensure fair returns for their produce, strengthening agricultural stability in the state.
Chief Minister’s Young Interns for Good Governance Initiative
To connect youth with governance, the state government will launch the ‘Chief Minister’s Young Interns for Good Governance’ program. Key details:
- 4,865 youths to be appointed as interns, receiving ₹10,000 per month.
- Each block will have 15 interns, collecting data on government schemes, ground-level implementation, and challenges.
- The program will run for three years, leveraging digital platforms for data collection and analysis.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said this initiative would encourage youth participation in governance and develop future leaders with firsthand administrative experience.
Free Property Registration for 46 Lakh Families
Under the Swamitva Yojana, the Cabinet approved free registration for 46 lakh families who currently lack legal ownership documents. Key features:
- Stamp duty waived for property registration.
- Ensures legal property rights for rural families.
- Helps resolve disputes and provides long-term security for property owners.
This move is expected to significantly empower rural households and enhance property-related governance in Madhya Pradesh.
Strengthening Healthcare Services
The Cabinet approved 51 new staff positions in hospitals at Maihar, Kaimur, and Nimrani, aiming to:
- Address shortages in medical personnel.
- Improve patient care and hospital services.
- Ensure better healthcare access in key districts.
These appointments are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure.
Employees and Pensioners to Receive 3% DA
The Cabinet formally approved 3% Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees and pensioners, implementing CM Yadav’s earlier announcement. This decision provides financial relief to millions of government employees and retirees in Madhya Pradesh.
Seven Key Schemes Extended for Five Years
The Cabinet approved the continuation of seven major departmental schemes for the next five years, involving an expenditure of ₹33,240 crore. This includes:
- Energy Department’s RDSS scheme
- Finance Department’s public funding programs
- Panchayat & Rural Development schemes for asset maintenance
This move ensures long-term stability and continuity of essential welfare programs in the state.
Commercial Gas Cylinder Delivery Halted, Petroleum Monitoring Strengthened
Following Centre guidelines amid Gulf tensions, the state government has temporarily halted commercial gas cylinder deliveries. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has also directed strict monitoring of petroleum products to ensure continuous supply and prevent shortages. Minister Kashyap confirmed that the state’s supply chain remains robust, and residents will not face any significant disruption.
