Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting at the State Assembly to assess preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations across the state. Stressing the importance of the occasion, he said that Independence Day is not just a festival, but a symbol of national identity, self-respect, and pride.
He emphasized the need to remember the sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters and inspire citizens, especially the youth, to follow their ideals.
Live Broadcast of CM’s Address Across Districts
In a significant move to connect with the people of the state, it was decided that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s message will be broadcast live during the district-level Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
Following the CM’s message, the chief guests at the district functions will provide updates on local development projects, flagship government schemes, and progress in sectors like agriculture, irrigation, and investments.

Instructions for Grand, Inclusive Celebrations
The Chief Minister directed that state and district-level programs should be organized with dignity, joy, and mass participation. He called for the inclusion of cultural programs that awaken a sense of patriotism, especially among youth.
He also reviewed in detail the seating, security, and traffic arrangements for the state-level function and ordered special facilities for freedom fighters, senior citizens, women, and Divyangjans (persons with disabilities).

The meeting was attended by several senior cabinet ministers including:
- Rajendra Shukla – Deputy CM, Public Health and Medical Education
- Kailash Vijayvargiya – Minister, Urban Development and Housing
- Prahlad Singh Patel – Minister, Panchayat and Rural Development
- Rakesh Singh – Minister, Public Works
- Uday Pratap Singh – Minister, School Education and Transport
Also present were Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretaries Neeraj Mandloi and Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Commissioner of Public Relations Dr. Sudam Khade, and other senior officers.
Appeal to Citizens for Participation
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged all citizens of Madhya Pradesh to actively participate in the Independence Day events and spread the message of unity, pride, and patriotism.
He highlighted that the celebrations are not just ceremonial, but a reaffirmation of our collective responsibility to preserve and build on the legacy of freedom.
