Bhopal: In a strong message of support to families impacted by excessive rains and flooding across Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday said that “the government is with you in this hour of crisis.” The CM was speaking virtually from Samatva Bhavan at his official residence, where he transferred ₹30 crore in relief funds directly to over 28,000 flood-affected beneficiaries with a single click.
Virtual Interaction with Affected Districts
The Chief Minister interacted virtually with flood-affected families from Shivpuri, Guna, Damoh, Raisen, and Chhindwara. He personally inquired about the administration’s response, relief arrangements, and rescue efforts.
People like Bhagchand from Shivpuri, Radheshyam Saket from Mauganj, Hemraj from Damoh, and others thanked the government, saying this year’s flood was unlike anything seen before, but the administration swiftly ensured food, shelter, and safety.

Record Rainfall Led to Severe Flooding
Dr. Yadav noted that the state has received 729.1 mm of rainfall so far—37% higher than normal—with heavy downpours in a short span causing flooding in many areas. Districts like Guna, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Mandla, and Ashoknagar were worst affected.
So far:
- 296 human lives and 1,685 animals have been lost.
- 299 houses have been completely damaged.
- 4,114 homes have been partially damaged.
61 relief camps were set up, with 7,345 people sheltered. Two camps are still operational in Mauganj, housing 175 individuals.

Government’s Proactive Measures
CM Dr. Yadav assured the public that the government had taken early precautions for flood management. “SDRF, NDRF, and Army teams were deployed wherever necessary,” he said.
He also praised the contribution of social and religious organizations, calling them key partners in providing food, rescue, and relief. “In Shivpuri, two people were trapped in floodwaters for 36 hours and were rescued due to the administration’s timely response,” he recalled.
Personal Touch and Raksha Bandhan Moments
In an emotional moment, the CM shared how women in flood-affected areas of Guna tied Rakhis on his wrist before speaking about their hardships. “This gesture reflects our cultural strength even in adversity,” Dr. Yadav said.
Financial Assistance and Relief Efforts So Far

₹30 crore was disbursed today.
This is excluding crop compensation, which is currently being surveyed.
In FY 2025-26, a total of ₹123 crore has been distributed under various relief measures.

Stay Alert, Rainy Season Not Over Yet
The CM warned that the monsoon is not yet over, urging citizens and administration to remain vigilant.
He emphasized that irrigation dams are currently filled up to 90%, with 4 dams already full.
