Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: On Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 12 major development projects in Ujjain, with a total investment of ₹129 crore. The ceremony, held at Nanakheda Stadium, also saw the launch of several youth-centric initiatives, aimed at fostering skill development, digital learning, and entrepreneurship.
Launch of Youth-Centric Initiatives
During the event, CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated three key programs designed to empower the youth of Ujjain. The Project Swadhyay (Coding for All) initiative will introduce students to coding and digital thinking from an early age, preparing them for a technology-driven future.
The Chief Minister also launched the UtkarshUjjain.com web portal, a unified digital platform providing guidance, learning resources, and opportunities for youth. Additionally, the Kaushal Setu Industry-Lead Skill Development Program was inaugurated, bridging the gap between education and industry and equipping young professionals with skills aligned to real-world industrial requirements.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that these initiatives will not only prepare the youth to be job-ready, startup-ready, and future-ready, but will also contribute to Ujjain’s socio-economic growth.
Infrastructure and Urban Development
In addition to these programs, CM Yadav laid the foundation for 11 new urban development projects in Ujjain’s municipal area, with a total investment of ₹124 crore. These projects include modernization of the old hockey stadium with international-standard AstroTurf, enabling Ujjain to host national and international hockey events.
The CM highlighted that these initiatives are part of a broader vision to make Ujjain a hub for education, sports, industry, and tourism, while also preparing the city for the upcoming Simhasth-2028, which is set to be one of the grandest and most disciplined religious gatherings in the world.
Preparing for Simhasth-2028
Dr. Yadav emphasized that over 5 lakh devotees had already visited Baba Mahakal in the past few days, and that all visitors are considered guests personally invited by the deity. The government, administration, and society are working together to ensure that Simhasth-2028 is safe, well-organized, and historic.
The CM announced a 24-hour bathing facility along the 30-km-long ghats, aiming to accommodate over 5 crore devotees for ritual bathing in the Shipra River. For the event, 33 major projects worth ₹2,675 crore have been approved and are under implementation, ensuring improved infrastructure, connectivity, and public facilities.
Urban Planning and Tourism Initiatives
CM Dr. Yadav shared details of other development projects, including the construction of Shani Lok, with an investment of ₹140 crore, set to boost religious tourism. The city’s road network is being upgraded with four-lane and six-lane roads, along with 12–13 new bridges to enhance connectivity.
Modern facilities such as a Medicity for medical tourism, a new industrial park, an IT park, and a Science City on the old Engineering College campus are also in progress.
