Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday flagged off the Bhopal-Dhanbad-Chopan Express from Bhopal Junction. The new train service will operate three days a week to Singrauli, three days to Dhanbad, and one day to Chopan, passing via the Bina-Sagar-Mudwara route.
The service provides direct rail connectivity between Bhopal and Singrauli seven days a week, offering significant convenience to passengers.
New Rail Connectivity Boosts Development in Madhya Pradesh
CM Mohan Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is receiving modern rail facilities and new train services, enhancing connectivity and economic opportunities. He emphasized that this new rail link marks a “new chapter of development and connectivity” for the state and neighboring regions.

Jabalpur-Gondia Line Doubling Approved by Central Cabinet
The Chief Minister announced that the Jabalpur-Gondia railway line doubling has been approved by the Central Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier, projects including the Indore-Manmad rail line and other key routes associated with major events like Singhsth have strengthened Madhya Pradesh’s rail infrastructure.
Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: 80 Stations to Get Modern Facilities
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, six stations — Katni South, Narmadapuram, Orchha, Seoni, Shajapur, and Shridham — are being redeveloped. In total, 80 stations across Madhya Pradesh will be upgraded at an estimated cost of nearly ₹2,750 crore, bringing modern passenger amenities comparable to international standards.
Direct Connectivity to Singrauli Spurs Regional Development
The CM emphasized that the new train service will connect the Sidhi-Singrauli region to Bhopal on a daily basis, fostering economic and social development.
Although the train reaches three different destinations, the service ensures consistent connectivity, which is critical for long-term growth.
Rail Line Doubling to Boost Tourism and Economy
The doubling of the Jabalpur-Gondia rail line is expected to accelerate tourism, religious travel, and commercial activity in the region. Better rail connectivity will also help historically underdeveloped and Naxal-affected forest areas, enhancing the strategic and economic importance of the Mahakoshal region.
CM Mohan Yadav thanked Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for supporting the initiative and reaffirmed that improved rail infrastructure will catalyze growth across Madhya Pradesh.
